Mrs. Gertrude L. HALLETT, 92, of Waynetown died at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday Sept 30, 1975 at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. She had been a patient there since Monday. She resided at Lane House Nursing home, Crawfordsville for two years. Mrs. Hallett was born October 21, 1882 near Wallace, the daughter of Joseph and Lear Wagner Summers Hallet. On Feb 9, 1902 she was married to Charles Hallett in Wallace. He died in 1956. Survivors include a brother, Mark Summers of Wallace; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and 11 greats. Two sons, Lacy and Oral; two brothers, Cyril Summers and Byron Summers, a sister, Mrs. Bessie Cates, preceded Mrs. Hallet in death. Mrs. Hallett, who operated the Waynetown Hardware Store with her husband resided in Waynetown since 1937. She attended the Waynetown Baptist Church and was a member of Scott Prairie Baptist Church. She was a 50 year member of the OES 415 in Wallace. She was educated in Fountain County Schools. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral Home. - kbz

Waynetown - Mrs. Gertrude L. Hallett, 92 of Waynetown died at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient for a day.  She had been a resident in Lane House at Crawfordsville for two years.  She had lived at Waynetown since 1937 when she and her husband moved there from Fountain County. They operated the Hallett Brothers Hardware Store at Waynetown.  Mrs. Hallett was a member of Scotts Prairie Christian Church and attended Waynetown Baptist Church. She was a 50-year member of the Wallace Order of Eastern Star 415.  

Born Oct 2, 1882 near Wallace, she was a daughter of Joseph and Lear Wagoner Summers.  She married Charles Hallett of Wallace on Feb 19, 1902.  He died in october of 1956.  Surviving is a brother, Marx Summers of Wallace; five grandchildren, Donald Hallett of Portage, Mich; Richard Hallett of Alexandria, Ind; Mrs. Lora Nichols of Alamo; Mrs. Connie Rutledge of Germany and Ruth Ann Hallett of Rt 1, Waynetown; 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  Two sons, Lacey who died in January of this year and Oral who died in 1972 and two brothers and a sister are deceased.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 pm. Thursday, Eastern star rites will be conducted by the Wallace Chapter at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
